Re: Taken out at Cadwell :-(
Good result I think. He's publicly apologised and said he is ashamed, and rightly so.
I think the thread has shown that people just expect some basic decency and if some one has the courage to come and say sorry it's highly unlikely that we'll throw that back in their face by being aggressive or confrontational. If he, or others, find themselves in a similar position, hopefully they'll remember this thread and go and say sorry. Its not easy, but things worth doing rarely are. Well done Druid for holding him to account! P.s Druid seems the sort of gent that would keep a private message just that. Last edited by crisis95; 08-08-11 at 02:49 PM. |

Re: Taken out at Cadwell :-(
Who is 'expected' to pay for this damage? I don't know what the etiquette is? Or is it a risk you take when you go on a TD?

Re: Taken out at Cadwell :-(
You sign a disclaimer saying you realise this may happen, but as he has publicly admitted he was timing his laps I'm not sure of the rules. I don't think he's under any legal obligation to pay.
Seems genuinely sorry though. |

Re: Taken out at Cadwell :-(
Fair one. I should have said that I hope he is. Otherwise all that good stuff about accepting people make mistakes but just wanting an apology is going to ring a bit hollow if it's thrown back in his face.

Re: Taken out at Cadwell :-(
The PM is that, although it pretty much echos what has been said publicly. He's apologised and I'm going to accept that.
As for personal details, I have already removed his personal information from the youtube clip details and from this thread and would ask anyone that has posted his personal details (including quoting me) to do the same. Druid

I've just realized he put up that thread about the same day he took you out, what a *****!

Re: Taken out at Cadwell :-(
The etiquette is you pay for your own damage but at Almeria a guy was rammed from behind at the end of the Kilometre straight and we all chipped in to help him with the repairs, he had only just bought the bike from FE and came all the way from Iceland for the trackday which he got 1 whole day before being taken out by someone slipstreaming.
