Apparently.....

The police helicopters(general i know, the ones used by GMP anyway) are only good for 154MPH. Thats the manufacturers spec as well, so they may well be slower, especially with all the kit.

There's hope of escape yet!

Do helicopters even have a speedo? or have a need for one....how the hell would they know that.

The worlds fastest can only do about 230 i believe

I can rememebr one of those police camera action things where a Porsche out ran a helicopter, unfortunatley for him he pulled off the motorway whilst still in view and they caught up.......

Ah, but you seen the cameras these things have on them. Not exactly a Cannon Ixus now are they. So you get 2 mile ahead, they just zoom in on your reg, and come roudn your house

Also unless it is a true roman road, you will need to go round bends ... the 'copter can cut the corner

helicopters work out their speed by GPS i think Grae'..

there are 2 tubes fitted to the front/

The air passes in the tubes, through a windometer i think and works outs the knots calculating to Mph...

I think thats what they were teaching the kids

You have an airspeed and groundspeed are different things
