Default Michelin Pilot Road 3's

After getting 9.5k rear and 14k front out of a set of Dunlop Roadsmarts. I have either stupidly or rightly decided to try the new Michelin Pilot Road 3s.

Since most of my commuting days up here in the North seem to be on wet or damp roads I was intrigued with the winter style pattern on the front tyre.

So far I have only covered the comute to work, yes in the wet. Leagues ahead of the roadsmart, but then it's not really fair considering the mileage they had covered.

I'm not expecting them to last as long as Roadsmarts or PR2's for that matter. If my theory is right they will heat up more, due to the tread pattern, but anything that give me a more grip in the wet is welcomed.

I'll update with progress on wear.

Was looking for review on these the other day, how much did they set you back out of interest?

They set me back £215 for the pair online with delivery. Fit them myself so no extra charges on that front.

I must admit thats three days of commuting in the rain and they are fantastic. I think I'll have to wait a while for a dry road to test them on.

I've seen an add for these somewhere the other day and was wondering if someone had tried them out.

I've really liked the PR2's on the SV, however they didn't feel great the the Falco :/ I'll need to change rubber soon but will probably stick with the Pirelli's.

Sorry but... what bike are you running?

i really love my pr2's on the gixer, wet / dry roads and track days, and they have been really good tyres and still loads of life in them. Will be intersting to see what you think of the pr3's in a few more months

There's a test on these in aprils bike mag, the tester getting his knee down in inch deep puddles
I'm gonna consider these, I had made my mind about dual compound storm ultras but that same test, they came out bottom in the wet, which doesn't inspire confidence.

Are they any other dual compounds around that are good in the wet ?
They appeal as I have the wife on the back and mways etc

I have found the PR2s to be very good in the wet. Not sure if they will be replaced by the PR3s though (but guessing they will be)
Was thinking of trying the Storms next, but if that review is anything to go by maybe not.

PR3's sounds great, the PR2's have been my fav on my pointy and then my curvy. I'll be looking forward to reviews when/if people change from PR2's to PR3's
