Rear Brake Issue - SV650.org

Hi,

I had a problem a wee while back with my rear brake. Basically it was non-existant.

I just wanted to post this note to say thanks to all you guys on here for resolving my problem. (I hadn't posted the issue but a search helped me find the answer). What with the site access issues blah blah I haven't had a chance untill now.

The tip about removing the pads and checking for glazing was excellent, as was the remedy of removing the glazing by rubbing the pads in figure of eight patterns on sandpaper.

The brake now works perfectly and I have saved an expensive trip to the garage.

This site is pure dead brilliant :P

Glad to see you got it sorted, we could all keep our bills down a bit if we did a little more ourselves. Most of the mechanical stuff well within the grasp of your average joe if he/she has got the right help and there is a lot of good stuff on this forum. I have to say that I'm still trying to find something similar for me GSXr - but it does not seem to exist in quite the same format.
