bike dying query
Well basically i have a intermittent problem on my k5 where when im going low speeds ie: <8 mph sometimes i'll pull the clutch in and the bike will turn off (same way as if you try to pull off with the side stand down) by sometimes i mean like once every couple of months and as soon as it dies it starts straight back up again with the starter and doesnt happen again for ages. Now is this something i should worry about/check out? i thought it could be me just not pulling the clutch in quick enough but surely the bike would jolt if i stalled it? and it doesn't it just turns off cleanly (no jolting etc)

Re: bike dying query
(I know nothing - have a free bump)
Do you mean the engine just stops or everything (lights etc) switches off? Bike won't jolt if it stalls while the clutch is in. (I know nothing) |

Re: bike dying query
no it only happens at very low speeds and as far as i know i dont lose my lights etc (only happened in day light so havnt checked) but my dash etc just goes as it would if your bikes in gear when u turn the ignition on. mite have to drop it down to the dealers!

Re: bike dying query
Probably worth checking/increasing your idle speed, or failing that have a look at the clutch lever/cable. Its probably one of those two things, but i wouldn't worry unduly if it happens so infrequently.
