Exclamation Camp gear

No, not the slightly effeminate gear between first and second but gear you use for camping. No, not like they do in Soho.... oh god this could go on all night.

Right, i need to buy a tent. Ive decided it. Cant spend my life borrowing tents off kind hearted orgers.

So i saw this
http://www.fieldandtrek.com/src/Affi...Tent-31318.htm

and thought it was ideal.

But they are doing a special offer if you buy this as a kit with 2 sleeping bags,
http://www.fieldandtrek.com/product....t=EQUISLEESYNT

2 fell mats
http://www.fieldandtrek.com/product....t=EQUISLEESELF

and some kinda lantern thingy.
http://www.fieldandtrek.com/product....UIACCELIGHLANT

So why am i telling you all this? Well i only need the tent and one of the sleeping bags you see. So does anyone need a new sleeping bag if its cheaper than the normal price? Or a fell mat for that matter.Ooops, crap pun, didnt mean it.

Or even a lantern!

sleeping bag..say £20
mat about £5
Lantern...make me an offer

Offer only open to soho regulars that i can meet up with before the AR to give them their stuff cos i sure as sh.. aint carrying it up there for ya

Any interested parties are kindly requested to make their interest known at the earliest opportunity cos muggins here likes to leave all his best and brightest ideas till the last minute

Aha! Cheers for that mate. The Hlfords tent is only a single skin and from experience the 2 skin ones are a better bet.

But thats a bloody good deal they're doing.

Ok as an ex-Venture Scout Leader.

1) If you buy a cheap tent from a no-name company, be prepared to consider it as a disposible one.

2) Double skinned IS the way to go.

So basically if I were you I would go for one of the big-name companies, Vango has always been one of my personal favourites

http://www.summits.co.uk/acatalog/co...Alpha_200.html

Would seem to suit your needs, and is quite cheap.

A sleeping bag like

http://www.summits.co.uk/acatalog/Va...rness_250.html

Would go well with that.

I guess the kit you have found WOULD do, especially as you are probably only going to use it once or twice a year.

I do, however have a spare tent and sleeping back you can borrow if you wish :P

That's the one I bought. It's all in a rather handy rucksack with a waist strap and a chest one too.

Agreed and thanks for the link to the tent.

i already have a decent sleeping bag, the only reason i was gonna sell only one of those out of that kit was to keep one to give to my nephew who like mine so much that "I want one like uncle Spideys, not a kids sized one"

Now i'm liking the tent you suggested too mate but they dont have any shops in or around london so if i buy theirs i have to rely on it arriving in time, hmmm.
Unless anyones going to scotland this week and fancies bringing one back for me

this thread has just reminded me of that wonderful metaphorical pun - 'camp as a row of pink tents'.

ok, ok, i'm still not being useful here.

Erm their website says 2-3 working days delivery.....

Should be here by next Friday if you ordered today.

And if it is late - well you can borrow my spare kit.
