Default Odometer not ticking over

I have the original instrument panel on my 2003 Suzuki SV650 and just today I noticed the odometer has stopped registering any new distance travelled. My panel only has wires going into it and all other functions are ok. So I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. Perhaps it's a sensor or broken wire?

Thanks.

If the speedo is still working then it sounds like an internal fault in the panel.

No, the other indications, lights, tacho etc are fine, speed and odometer are not working.

Search the forum for pointy rotor - if the speedo has gone to, it's likely to be this, particularly if you've had the front wheel off recently.

Sounds like you have a lug missing.

I finally got a replacement part for my disintegrated speedo sensor. It's from a 2007 model but the applicability is OK for my 2003. The problem is the speedo is reading double the speed and distance travelled.

Any ideas?

I'm reading around and it seems that the rotor changed after 2004!

Did you manage to find a rotor yet ?
Ive just had to order one for my 2003.
They have what looks like a pattern one on wemoto for £38, I found an oem one in Ebay but it's coming from Germany.
I'll sort a link out for you
