Social /Family Day....Sept 18th (CONFIRMED) direction + pic
Following Cloggsy's Poll (above), this is what I propose:
Day: Sunday 18th September Place: "Daggett's Field", Burnsall, North Yorks. Burnsall is about six miles from Skipton, betwixt Grassington and Bolton Abby. The site itself is a large field, the first on the right hand side over the bridge when travelling towards Appletreewick, and in the crook of the River Wharfe directly opposite the Village Green. Young kids can run around to their heart's content/splash in the river/fly kites/play ball-games/worry sheep etc. Older kids can lounge on the grass and talk about serious things....(not!). The idea is to relax and be sociable. The site has M & F toilets and entry is charged at ?3 for cars inc. occupants and ?1 for bikes. If you come by bike, I recommend that you bring a stand pad. Burnsall itself has a pub and two cafes, but I will set up a barbie to supply you with bacon/sausage sandwiches, and probably have some tea and coffee too. Those of you arriving by car/camper van etc, can of course bring your own picnics if you wish! I'll be there from about 10.30 ensuring there is some space for us all, but if it rains, it's gonna be cancelled. If not enough people are interested or able to attend, it's gonna be cancelled. Some ideas of numbers please would now be appreciated. |

I'm not really sure yet TBH. Think I am supposed to be on hols that weekend - but I got no money. Spent far too much on bits for the bike! and don't want to leave her alone too long anyway .
Will try.............. |
