Seeing as nobody wants to buy my Gladius, I took her out for a nice long ride today. Went from Crewe to Bala, then through to the Mach Loop. I didn't want to stop long, so didn't bother climbing the hill to see if any planes turned up.

A few pictures from my run up to the highland of Scotland. Four days of big miles, fabulous weather, and heart stoppingly beautiful scenery. However, if I never see another camper van again, it'll be a day too soon. As for the midges.....

Arrived at Fort William after a 485 mile ride from Wales.

Sunset on the first night of the trip from the campsite in Fort William.

The view of Ben Nevis and the ridge from the same campsite the next morning.

Eileen Donan castle.

The view from our late breakfast stop on day 2.

On our way up Bealach na Bá

Looking back from half way up.

Towards the top.

Halfway up.

Views from the Applecross peninsula coast road, next day. Stunning though the pass was, the views from this road were just out of this world and knocked spots of everything else on the trip for me.

Round the corner on to the next peninsula and the road to Diabaig.

The waterfront and jetty at Diabaig.

Stopped at Torridon for a cup of tea and cake on the way back from Diabaig.

Made a dash back for southern end of Scotland after this. Camped on a small farm campsite 50 miles north of Carlisle. Partridges chattering in the heather all night and in the morning I saw an ottern in the burn running through the farm.
And loads of midges.
