K-Tech fork cartridges
In light of the Mrs getting a new bike and the SV surplus to requirements I had an idea that I might turn it into a track bike.
Thought I'd call JHS racing to see how much some suspension upgrades would cost. They quoted me £1100 for fully adjustable cartridges fitted to the bike and all set up for my weight. Just thought I'd post my findings in case anyone else was wondering what the cost was

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges
Without a doubt that'll be a lovely front end.
However, this year I went racing with some thicker oil, modified damper rods, cheap emulators and stiffer single rate springs and the front end felt really quite planted. Jambo

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges
tell you what, give me £1100 and i'll put a GSXR USD radial front end on it all set up for your weight.
TBH emulators are about 80+% as good as full cartridge add in some springs for your weight and its a pretty good setup. think about it, the sv is capable of grinding the pegs in standard guise with a capable rider so any improvement is going to make it ermm better. plus with emulators you can spend the change on a very good shock. if its the work you are worried about then just send me the forks and callipers and i'll work my magic |

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges
Absolutely no point putting cartridges into a track bike, it is a thing for getting them through minitwin rules hence the cost because there's some special engineering to do.
On the other hand I would be happy doing those all fookin day for £1100 a throw

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges
Not going to do it, decided to try and sell the bike instead, just thought it might interest others.

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges
There's 1100 reasons why our race bikes haven't got those valves.
Would undoubtedly be lovely though.

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges
Springs and oil would cost no more than £150 and they are easy to change, the JHS set up would be nice!.
What bike are looking to get?. |

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges
Going to see what the CBR400 is like on the track but will probably look at getting something cheap over the winter. Something someone else has already spent money on
