Gen 2 SV650 clock/nose fairing mounting point bent.
To get straight to the point, the part on the front of the frame that sticks out which has 2 holes/threads for the clock/speedo bracket to be bolted on to is bent after a recent off. I only noticed after replacing the insanely bent bracket and nose fairing. It looks like it's bent about 10 degrees to the left.
Does anybody know how malleable that part is? When I replace my cracked headlights I might have a go at repositioning it if it's possible... Thanks in advance! |

i have straightened one but i used to be a blacksmith and i can tell you its a RPITA. requires heat and a big sturdy well bolted down vice and big stillsons/bar.

Thanks for that - Sounds like that requires the frame to be free... Well I don't plan on ever selling this bike so it looks like it'll I'll have to live with that until the bike's demise.

Wasn't referring to the bracket, but the actual mounting point on the frame

OK good luck with fixing that, if that is bent is the rest of the frame straight?

Re: Gen 2 SV650 clock/nose fairing mounting point bent.
i haven't straightened a headstock lobe and i would not even attempt it and if i did i would cut it off and weld it back on or send the frame off to a motoliner.
