Rossi back to Yamaha - its official
Thank god for that, about time he ditched that bike and got back to winning ways.
If he fails now, its all down to him. No excuses. |

Re: Rossi back to Yamaha - its official
Tho I'm very keen to see him do well again, I think he will have lost his aura of invincibility. There is the suspicion that Stoner could have got wins on this bike (we'll never know) but I think the fact that he's walked away is going to disappoint many people.
Obviously we will never know whether a) Stoner would have won on this bike and b) what was so unfixable about the current bike. But as said before, if he loses to Lorenzo now, he should retire. |

Re: Rossi back to Yamaha - its official
i think the competition between lorenzo and rossi is going to make the racing very intense and exciting, lorenzo is at the top of his a game and rossi isn't going to want to be shown up by a team mate, so this is going to make for some good racing

Re: Rossi back to Yamaha - its official
I wouldn't underestimate Lorenzo's abilities. There is no automatic reason to expect Rossi to turn up and blitz him, I wouldnt be surprised if that Yamaha doesnt take a little getting used to after what he's been through. But I do expect him fairly quickly to be up there competing at the front, winning some, losing some against the best.
10th/11th place simply wont wash on the Yamaha. |

Indeed, the thought of bashing fairings at 200mph is quite an exciting one (to watch...)

So if he wins can we say it's because Lorenzo developed the bike?

Re: Rossi back to Yamaha - its official
I don't think Rossi will just get on and ride, lol. I think he will do everything needed, as will the team to get the bike right for him.
I also don't expect to see him burst back into winning form. But it certainly gives him the chance to get back there. |

Re: Rossi back to Yamaha - its official
Such a shame that Suzuki pulled out of MotoGP - imagine if they had scraped together enough to entice him over to their team... Winning on all three major Japanese players in the field would have been quite something.
