Fuel Light Issue
The last couple of times on my bike the fuel light has been flashing rapidly and i need to fill up straight away where normally it blinks slowly when the fuel level is low, then comes on constantly when it's really low but it hasnt been doing that it just flashes rapidly which is when its basically empty. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a sensor fault? Its a 2005 sv650s

Re: Fuel Light Issue
My curvy fuel light used to come on solidly first and then start flashing when I was (in theory) close to empty. However, it now just goes straight to flashing. I just keep an eye on the trip as I know that I have at least twenty miles still to go when it comes on.

Re: Fuel Light Issue
Yeah i do normally check my trip and fill up around 100 miles so i know im ok but just started doing this and read somewhere that it could be a faulty sensor and just wanted a second opinion on it as its nice to have the fuel light come on when it should and not when its basically empty

Re: Fuel Light Issue
If you’re filling up at 100 miles you shouldn’t need to worry overly. I don’t even think about putting more fuel in until 180 miles. I regularly see just over 200 miles on mine and I’ve never yet managed to get any more than 15.5 litres in the tank.

Re: Fuel Light Issue
I dont check it all the time but when im out on a ride i check it but if im going to work and back i just wait for the light to come on but the light should be working. I dont get anymore than 160 miles out my tank and today filled up just over 16 litres.

Re: Fuel Light Issue
Mine only flashes - I usually then panic and head for the filling station. Have to say the Suzuki key fob manages to do an excellent job of covering the warning light- anyone have any idea how much fuel/mileage is left when it does come on?

Re: Fuel Light Issue
When my light used to flash slowly it normally had around 30 miles left in the tank and then when it went a solid light normally around 10miles for me

Re: Fuel Light Issue
When my light starts to flash, everyone seems to panic, slam on the brakes and put their phones down!??
