I’d agree. My K6 has done 134,000 miles and still has the original RR, indeed it had the original 13 year old battery until just a few weeks ago.

What R1... says above makes sense from an electrical engineering point of view (as does his blog), but whether it is worth doing or not is a balance between the risk of changing things on an older bike and the subsequent advantages.

See other replies but NO.My old Electronics tutor had a great saying.

I've got an Original R/R that is over 35 years old on another bike and still works fine

This is what can happen to Stator circuit block connectors that are not looked after,

Don't know if this is any use but ..
people in a club I used to belong to recommended the manor bikers at Bellerby (Leyburn) for servicing V-twins.
Also, friends use https://en-gb.facebook.com/LeedsMotorcycleMotCentre/ used to be a Suzuki mechanic for Appleyards when they were in Leeds
