Ok i have taken on my first project
![]() This is my dads old Honda CB 750 Supersport. He sold it a year before he died, and a friend of the family tracked down who he sold it to and managed to bargin for it back after my dad died. He did this so that we would have something that belonged to him - nicest thing anyone has ever done and i was in proper tears when i saw the bike So in order to do it justice, I am planning on restoring it and upgrading bit. Returning it to the great bike it once was So any tips or advice will be gratefully recieved I will keep this thread posted for those of you who are interested Wish me luck ![]() Rai ![]() |

Rai, the actual model you have there is a Honda CB750 F2 - the Supersport tag was never used in normal useage even though it appears under the tank badge. Honda put that tag under the tank badge of a number of CB750 models, so to avoid confusion when ordering parts it's best to use the F2 suffix. Don't be fobbed off with parts for an F1 because although they look similar alot of the parts aren't interchangeable between those two models.
You should be able to get most parts for that bike from David Silver Spares, they carry all manner of bits for older Hondas. http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ |

S'ok sweetie, anything to help.
I crashed my best mate's 750 F2 quite heavily into a roundabout when I was about 20, that's how I know F1 parts aren't all interchangeable. We had to rebuild it the next day with used spares so he could go to the TT on it. |

Very interested to see how it goes as im still in the middle of my project.
When you take it apart LABLE EVERYTHING and put it in tupperware otherwise things get abit confusing. Good luck though looks like its going to be some good fun over the summer, and keep us updated. ps. can i have the gsxr400 hiding in the back?? |

I wonder if I've still got the Bike magazine first ride on this?
I'm old enough to remember it

Good morning all.
Nice looking bike. I remember wanting ones of those back when I had hair & teeth etc ![]() If it hasn't already got it, fit Boyer electronic ignition, it makes a huge difference to how old Jap bikes run. & in real terms cost little more than a set of genuine points & condensers. Boyer can be contacted on; 01622 730939 Indeed, David Silver is the place for spares. If they can't help, try Tippetts at Tolworth. They've been a Honda dealer since 1959, & I have found them to be pretty good when it comes to older stuff. Tippetts can be contacted on; 020 8399 7449. Good luck with the restoration. Keep us posted. Cheers. |
