Re: Loomies
no, I didn't call them BAD.
It's a decent enough little place and I'm sure its palatial by northern standards but the food is okayish, bit pricy, the decor is run down little chef and the owner lady is humorously gobby. Also they get unreasonably shirty when jammy eats other peoples breakfasts. loomies. That or alton (train station)cafe or the holiday inn in amazingstoke. Keep an eye on the Guildford massive forum section, there's something going on at least every other weekend. Last edited by Spank86; 10-07-13 at 09:31 PM. |

Re: Loomies
The only time I've been there was during the AR & my opinion is -
Overrated & Overpriced

Re: Loomies
Yep, we only occasionally meet there as its central for some of the rides.
I don't eat there for the reasons above but I do get a drink. Monster burger on portsdown hill is much cheaper plus better quality of food and its a burger van (albeit a very modern high class one, but if you saw the business he does you'd know why). There is no comparison between them. Tonyk took us to whiteways cafe on Saturday and it was immense! I'd never been but the burgers where the same price as loomies but about 3 times the size and quality, think man vs food kind of burgers, the type you manage to get on your forehead when eating. |

Re: Loomies
Just be aware that the 'plumbers' like to operate around whiteways with speedtraps, usually just south of the café on the 29.

Re: Loomies
Personally I like Loomies. Loads of bikes, good location, normally a place to sit down inside, benches outside, a loo that is half decent, a petty station right next door. This whole "It's so expensive argument" doesn't bother me ... ya know, the difference of a couple of quid once a weekend? It's not like it's a £12 steak vs a £20 steak.
The staff are good, I find the food decent, the bloke is always friendly, the woman too ... loads of banter if you want it, and great knockers. What's not to like?! I think they do a good job. Did I mention knockers?
