Price of seat cowls.
Just been checking Suzuki prices of seat cowls, curvy is £81, pointy is £42, why is this ?
If I fit a cowl will I be able to fit a lot more under my seat(cowl) ? Is the cowl strong enough to take a top box ? |

Re: Price of seat cowls.
the OE seat cowl's are strong, the pointy is £42 up to k6 but then the prices seem to rise for some reason? you may get a tad more room with one fitted but prob just enuf for a packet of fags.

Re: Price of seat cowls.
There is a special top box pad that will allow you to replace your pillion seat with a topbox - made my Mr Suzuki too

Re: Price of seat cowls.
I Brought A Seat Cowl When I Bought My Bike I Had To Pay An Extra £80 For It Though But She Had It Custom Made Its A Bit Special. She Paid £200 For It So... Really Tidys Up The A*s End When a Undertray Is Fitted Aswell
I Wouldn't Recomend Using With A Top Box £80 Is A lot Of Money If Its Just Going To Get Scratched Last edited by 101bigshane101; 29-03-07 at 09:26 PM. |

Re: Price of seat cowls.
I get more stuff under mine with the cowl than without, it bumps up a little while the seat doesn't. Not massively, mind, just a wee bit bigger.
The curvy one's a wee bit more complicated in construction, which is why it's more expensive. I reckon Suzuki didn't totally know what the market for the SV was going to be when they built the first one- so you get stuff like the really expensive frame (better for small runs, because of the way it's built, but rubbish for a high volume production), and other stuff like the addons being obviously addons, rather than having been designed along with the bike.

Re: Price of seat cowls.
Thanks a lot TC3 and perra. I have mailed Redcar today and will sure check up Steve Jordan too.
I spoke to KGK, the official importer of Suzuki in Sweden today, and it seems like these seat cowls are not for sale here at all... |
