Default Digital clock on a curvy?

Has anyone tried/fitted a little clock into the clock surround?

I know the easiest way is to stick one on,but i might try and cut a hole (above the speedo and rev counter) and try and make it look "factory".

There is alot of wiring behind there so finding a constant live shouldn't be a problem.
Anyone got a smashed surround they want to donate?

Mike

I think that may be tricky! Surely the power will be 12v, and a small digital clock would require a tiny percentage of that?

I've got one of those classic Casio watches strapped around my top yoke, ?1.99 from a charity shop.

Whats more, the stopwatch means I've even got an "onboard laptimer", eat your heart out RSV's!! Honestly, I think pressing those tiny buttons with gloves will be a little tricky!

Bah to OEM-fit. Gaffer tape.

On a different note, why not just use a battery clock/watch as a donor, the power supply is always moving around between probably 12 and 15 volts and there's still residual 3 phase pulsing there, not really ideal for electronics.

I keep meaning to strap a cheap watch to the yoke but haven't got round to it.

I duct-taped a cheap stop watch to my yoke for my euro/Nurburgring trip, the buttons stood out enough to allow Bridge to Gantry (BTG) timing to within a reasonable accuracy.

It gave up after 6mths of being drowned, but was a cheap replaceable mod, one that I need to repeat for the 'Ring again. (They give you transponders at Spa, can't wait for that )
