Rearsets
Anyone used/ know someone who has used these. Any good, they look like sensible money to me and look quite well made for what its worth.

Re: Rearsets
Don't bother.
We fitted a set of those to Danny's ZX10R race bike and they kept falling apart. The pivot points aren't properly bushed or fitted with bearings, so they get sloppy. I had to modify them quite a bit to take the initial play out of them before we'd even put them on the bike, and we were constantly having to tighten every bolt up before Danny went out to race, even when they were Loctited. I think this was because the taps and dies he uses are worn out - all the threads were very loose on dry assembly. The footrests themselves were too long which allowed the lever to wobble about very badly - not what you want on a bike with a quick-shifter. The overall look and feel of them is shoddy, cheap materials, cheap machining and cheap assembly, and no corrosion protection at all. On the other hand, my ex has a set of GB Moto ones designed for a Gixer on her SV650K3 and they are marvellous, and only cost 35 quid more. Anodised, fully bearing'd up, they fit properly and are so much better quality in every respect. GB Moto sell them on ebay too. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GBMOTO-REARSET...QQcmdZViewItem Last edited by Lozzo; 31-12-07 at 02:17 PM. |

Re: Rearsets
We just fitted these which we bought each other for Christmas. Fully adjustable. You can get just the rear sets for £119. We got a complete set of spare levers, pegs and bolts too for £169 posted. The only down-side is, you have to pay VAT and handling on top as they are from the States.

I have a set of Rosmoto rearsets on my curvy, lasted over 3 years now and not a problem (despite a low side 2 years ago). An occassional oil and check is all they need. I have had Gilles rearsets on a GSXR and they were of a good quality and strength, but nothing comparted to the Rosmoto's. Its also very important to locktite every bolt on the Gilles rearsets! The Gilles are good rearsets but they are costly. |

Re: Rearsets
Thanks DD. We're very pleased with them
I'll let you off, Robo, the skip comment was a tad harsh, maybe
