K4 throttle balance connections?
Next on my to-do list is the tb sync. The front one is ok..i know where to connect the hoses, but the back one gives me troubble. There are 2 possible connections..and honestly idk wich one is the one i need.
Here is a picture of them. It`s taken from the right side of the bike http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/...ps07e20525.png |

Re: K4 throttle balance connections?
Maybe i should make new thread.. Not sure, but i'm curious what's the purpose of these 2 hoses that go into the airbox? Is it normal for them to be wet like in the pic? (note that the bike hasnt been run in almost 2 weeks)

K4 throttle balance connections?
The crankcases can't be sealed, but it is not desirable to vent them to atmosphere as gases therein have various noxious components, the two hoses allow the crankcase gases and excess pressure from crankcase pumping into the airbox, such that the gas in drawn into the engine and burnt, reducing emissions.
As the crank rotates the volume of the crankcase changes due to the layout of the SV engine, being a common crankpin 90* V-twin, the volume rises and falls by one cylinder's worth (nominally 325cc) each revolution, that's quite a big pump when spinning at several thousand RPM, as such the SV has two sizeable breather hoses to allow the significant volume of gas to enter and exit the cases. Within the cases it is not calm and serene, there's lots of oil spray being thrown around, and that nice big pump will see a good amount of oil shoved out of the pipe - normal. At the bottom of the airbox, where those two hoses connect, they lead into a small container with a plastic mesh in it, this is an oil separator whose purpose is to allow the oil to condense onto the mesh and run back to the crankcase.
