Don't need lights, just reflector, horn and speedo. My bike was already road registered when I got it a daytime mot so don't know about registering it.

I have done this with an off road 250cc bike. You will need a dating certificate from the manufactorer which will cost about £35 (unless you want it on a Q which insurers wont like) and an MOT. The DVLA will charge you £50 for the reg and either 6 or 12 months Tax (Total £85 in my case) For daytime MOT you need a horn and a reflector (dont need a speedo) a daytime MOT is a full MOT cert with an advisory on it for daytime use only. For Full MOT you need front light (meant to be dimmable but mine wasnt) rear light, brake light, reg light, both front and rear brake light systems need to be working, horn and reflector). If we are talking about an off road bike tyres will need to be DOT.

You will also need an insurance certificate.

BTW my letter from Honda stated that the bike was purely an off road machine, has never been type approved and was never intended to be (even though its an Enduro). The DVLA didn't care so long as it had a date of manufacture and an MOT.

I have the feeling you found your toy for the Top Gear adventure.

Like I said mine isnt type approved and the DVLA didnt care (tbh they care more about import tax being paid).

Make sure its an enduro as these generally come with stators to keep the battery charged and therefore something to power the lights. Re engineering a motorcross bike to fit a stator to power lights can lead to a world of pain. I know you can get battery cell powered lights but these are a pain too.
