I took my steering stem to my local shop and got them to remove the lower race and install the new one

That's the best and safe option

Since doing my own I now have a bloke who has a Bearing press so can remove and fit cheap

A tenner if I remember rightly. He chiseled off the old race, and pressed the new one on.

I had the same adjusting the TPS.. didn't realise it needed a security torx. Then went out and bought the only kit of security torx bits I could find which was surprisingly expensive from Screwfix. Since then I've seen them everywhere for a lot less money, including B&Q and Lidl.

Both these bolts are held in by loctite and strong stuff too. Because they are made of cheese, you might end up drilling them out. Another annoyance I'm afraid

Is there a way of un plugging the ignition and taking it off the bike still attached to the top yoke? im gonna spray the top yoke but i could easily just mask off the ignition barrel, anything to not have to remove these bolts if necessary lol
