Default Lend me a swingarm tool - Canvey Island area.

Hi guys... probably wrong area... but need a hand

Found out that my swingarm is cracked so I have a new one on the way... but as the SV is a new purchase, my bank account has been hit hard... (having to spend out a bit on this one)... is anyone in the Canvey Island area able to lend me a Swing arm bolt socket so I can get the blighter off?

Sv650 k1

PLEASE!!!!

Would be for the 26th as myself and someone are spending the day on the bike getting everything sorted (Think it has a warped front axle aswell... also has various other bits and bobs that need sorting...)

PS... Its my first bike and my mod 1 is on the 17th (Wise me luck... and yes I am looking for sympathy help)

:S

.....

I love my SV

Try regional section.

You can just use punch if you are desperate

What YC is suggesting, is that you could try using a punch to undo the locknut, but this could be tricky as the locknut is torqued up tight.

You'd be better off cutting down a socket with an angle grinder to match the pattern of the locknut. But easier to buy one off the guy on Ebay.

Post up in the Essex lounge as that's your regional forum

You are asking for tool to remove swingarm lockring right? Castellated socket?

right way to do it is to take 32mm socket and grind castellations into top of it to match lock ring.
Butchers way (but does work) is to take punch and knock the ring around. It is not on that tight.

Socket to undo actual spindle is 24 or something for locknut and 22 for spindle itself, just normal socket.

go on alphasports and get parts fiche and post pic on here so you can refer directly to parts on diagram if you have more questions, make life easy

P.S you need to take exhaust off to remove swingarm, studs on front pot will be PITA.
