1971
1971 was the year I learned to ride a motorbike. I thought I'd take a nostalgia trip into the music of that year.
Cher (Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves) at least one #1 Billboard record in every decade since 1960, 7 decades! Don Mclean (American Pie and Vincent) - saw him in concert many years later Badfinger Piglets (with the annoying "Johnnie Reggae") Lobo ("Me and you and a dog named boo") - good grief The Beatles all had solo records (a sign of things to come?) Curved Air Hurricane Smith R. Dean Taylor (Indiana wants me) T.Rex, starting the Glamrock era James Taylor (You've got a friend) Tom Jones! Ray Stevens ("Bridget the Midget") another good grief Middle of the Road (Tweedle dee tweedle dum) Sally Carr's hot pants! Rod Stewart was #2 top selling single (Maggie May) #1 was George Harrison (My Sweet Lord). Also the year that "Yes" released their 3rd studio album, unimaginatively called: "The Yes Album". Started me being a fan to this day.

Re: 1971
Yes I remember all those. I used to record the Top 10 charts on radio 1 on Sunday night with Alan "Fluff" Freeman. My first bike came in 1973.
