Avon AV52sp
in a word - great.
fitted the avons for my first trackday at cadwell. wore in really quickly (60 miles down to the track, then straight on). The bike felt a little flightier in a straight line, 'cos they have a triangular shape to them, meaning turn in is a lot quicker. some might not like it, i loved it. and the grip - they never once slid or threatened to let go. I also think they warmed up pretty quickly, compared to the last set i had (continentals i think) the shape of the tyre also meant hundreds of motorway miles didn't square them off, they just rounded back to a more standard shape. must have had 6000 miles out of it. they were the sportiest tyres i've had on yet, so i cant compare them to supercorsas or the like, but for (pretty) cheap track/road rubber, i'd go with them any time. hope this helps some people. my rating: |

how do you know when the tyres are warm? if they're cold i'd expect them to be skittish, but if they never really come close to letting go, how can you tell?
