Could you not get them properly powder coated? I have seen people mention it on here as not being too expensive.......not sure of actual figures.

If the bike is used all year round it may be a bit hard to get the wheels powder coated or painted.

True, it ain't being used at the moment though as it's too blinkin' cold up here!

Powder coating is £40 per wheel plus postage (so probably another £15-20 each way), which works out at over £100.

Hence looking for someone who fancied a swap!

I recon, polish the rims ( paint is VERY thin I hear so won't take much doing, then paint the centres whatever colour you like ( red to match the seat ) - easy - polished rims are dead easy to clean and no fear of chipping and scratching.
