Re: Newbie/Custom Project
Does anybody know if GSX650F forks will fit a pointy? they are both 41mm, also how can you interpret Suzuki part numbers?
The GSX650F & SV650 right forks both have the same part number prefix 51103 but different suffix 17H10 for theGSXF & 17G80 for the SV Thanks |

Re: Newbie/Custom Project
the gsx650f forks should fit but you will need to change the yokes as well. the stearing stem on the yokes should be the same as most of the suzuki range and a direct graft into the sv steering head. as with all grafts its best to stick a complete front end from another bike on.
just checked and the stanchion/damper rod are different, although a close part number its not good enough as the curvy, pointy, gsxf is the same part numbers apart from 'H' 'G' and 'F' in the numbering. if you could find a cheap complete front end off a gsx650f then it would be an easy way to get the naked (sit up) look. i would have to do a lot more part number checking as regards to front wheel and such but the sv wheel should fit. |

Re: Newbie/Custom Project
There's some cheap GSX650F forks on fleabay so I was wondering if I could just replace the complete legs or use the stanchions in the original lowers, hence the question. What I ideally would like to do is just replace the stanchions & not bugger about with different wheels etc. Thanks for your help

Re: Newbie/Custom Project
There's a complete gsxr front end on facebook (motorcycle projects group) for about £400 including wheel, brakes, the lot. Upside down forks. Looks in good condition. I'd bag it.
Good luck and welcome! |

Re: Newbie/Custom Project
I appreciate your help. I couldn't find it on facebook. There are lots of Gixxers, what model(s) front end should I be looking for?
Thanks |

Re: Newbie/Custom Project
There's a front end from a 98 GSXR 750 on fleabay, would that fit without too much buggering about?
Thanks |
