Re: Help! Front sprocket too tight!
Yep, that's what I said. But it would have been Loctite high strength retainer(blue), not Threadlocker (red). You could see fragments of something in the thread. the forces/local heat caused by the 2000Nm gun turned it to dust. Wow. So happy for Sl0th that the shaft didn't shear.

I don't mean to be the forecast of doom but you have to wonder with that sort of force what stresses the crank has been under and whether is has suffered as a result.

Re: Help! Front sprocket too tight!
If it goes by "feel" it doesnt feel any different when riding? It got zapped off in neutral while standing on the rear brake

Re: Help! Front sprocket too tight!
That can't be so bad then. Mine was pretty tight, I put a big lump of softwood wrapped in towels through the wheel and over the swingarm.

Re: Help! Front sprocket too tight!
The force does not go into the engine or gearbox at all. The gearbox is in neutral and the rear brake is on hard so the movement sensed comes from the cush drive compressing. No need for any wood across the swing arm or front wheel against the wall. Incidentally the rear brake hose is in the way of a 4x2 anyway.

Re: Help! Front sprocket too tight!
I was stripping to service the swingarm bearings so the brake hose wasn't an issue. True about the force going through the brakes, that means the chain is taking is then
