Scamera's
Righto something I have forgotten to mention.
Theres quite a few speed camera's on the A303, one by Solistice Park Services, then another one in one of the villages a bit further on, then another where the you come through a 50 limit and then go up a hill. Then another set on both sides of the road on one of the single track carrigeways. Theres also another on the 50mph single carrigeway section between Sparkford and Yeovil. Just before the turn off for Yeovilton. They are all static cameras and painted bright yellow so if you get flashed you're a muppet... Also the scamera van likes to lurk around the Meare turnoff on the over bridge above the A303. Also on the section near Sparkford the police used to like pulling people for speeding on that bit to. Its mainly the single sections of the A303 you want to keep your eyes peeled on.

Re: Scamera's
Got flashed by the one on the hill that you mention when I went to Torquay.
Fortunately it was the other kind of NIP situation - Nothing In the Post

Re: Scamera's
Being the law-abiding bunch that we are we wouldn't dream of exceeding the speed limit anyway, so no worries

Re: Scamera's
Hmm. Now, I believe it might be a criminal offence to warn people of the location of cameras. However, dropping off a marker immediately before an accident blackspot might not be a bad idea, if there's should happen to be any on the route?
PS there are, I think, absolutely no cameras at all on the Glencoe massacre route OTOH, there are a few roads on which if you speed, you're going to end up riding into a loch. Swings and roundabouts that.

Re: Scamera's
You will pass through 6 speed cameras in the last 50 miles of your journey if your coming west along the A303. Thats just madness, i'm surprised i don't have more points on my licence as it's my daily commute.

Re: Scamera's
you definately need to watch out :P
pah, try 7 on the same stretch of less than 2 miles worth of road (right near my house!!) althought they aren't all going in the same direction (i'm led to believe it's one of the most 'camered' roads in the country).
