Lovely natured dogs, lurchers. Her mother was a greyhound/whippet/terrier cross. Can't remember what type of terrier, it wasn't Bedlington but it was one of those larger terriers. Father was described simply as a "bull lurcher", so some sort of bull terrier cross in there. Quote:
Thanks Brettus, great name isn't it? "Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat" from TS Elliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" provided the inspiration there. My daughters read the poem and chose the name. There's a whisper down the line at 11.39 When the Night Mail's ready to depart, Saying 'Skimble where is Skimble has he gone to hunt the thimble? We must find him or the train can't start.'........http://www.newearth.demon.co.uk/poems/lyric232.htm |

Re: Mabel
Sounds like a nice mix, very healthy dogs too.
Mine is said to be whippet/saluki bitch x whippet staffordshire bull terrier sire. Do keep us updated as she grows. |

Re: Mabel
Can't beat a crossbreed for temperament and physical hardiness generally. She's my third lurcher since 1987.
