Default What's the best way to mount tent/overnight luggage

Hello all,

Heading away this weekend to the applecross dash in Scotland.

I've been wondering if anybody had any tips for securing (without damaging the paintwork) a tent to the pillion seat and also a sleeping bag and black bag full of clothes.

I've no spare cash for proper luggage/luggage rack at the moment, but still want to get away for the weekend. Any pictures would be gratefully appreciated.

By the way, my bike is a K4 SV 650s.

If your going to do it cheaply you will need bungies, plenty of them.

I would buy a waterproof bag from hein gericke, the big ones are about £20. Well worth it to keep your kit dry......

I guess its just trial and error trying to fit your kit on, good luck and have fun this weekend

Cheers for the tip.

I'm sure I can stretch to a water proof bag and some bungie clips.

On a more serious note, best thing is to put some non-slip matting on your bike and then wrap up your items in black bin liners and bungy them down, as you can see from the above example ( Jester666 not me) the bike can carry a fair amount.

Make sure you have a 5-10 minutes shakedown run first before you set off on your journey, a quick shake of all your things on the bike whilst its stood still is not enough. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
