car dealers are very desperate
OK so I walk into a BMW garage today to ask about second hand 3 series saloon (want to know the specs and a free brochure) no real intention to buy a new one. Sales conversation goes I would like this car second hand, salesman why? me. because its about 7k cheaper then the new one! so he sits me down pulls up hte new car on the screen 27k to start then presses a few buttons and before I can say any discount he got the new car to 22K + 1200 quids wroth of leather, bluetooth and satnav thrown in for free ad then tells me he would give me 1500 towards the deposit.
it ends up as a 30k car going for about 21k after road tax registration fees etc. I think I may push for 20k and see what they may do! Just though I would post it as I found it rather bizarre that they can reduce prices by this much. |

You'll still be able to get a 3 year old one for a massive chunk less though shirley?

Re: car dealers are very desperate
£7.5k off a discovery is still a shedload of money for a pointless vehicle IMO!

Re: car dealers are very desperate
Offer them £18k, take it or leave it! Bet you they will take it, or at least go for £20k. Most dealerships would be happy to get a car out the showroom at the minute!
