Default What Are You Reading?

I'd be interested to know what books people are currently reading, and what they would recommend, as I am always on the lookout for new authors.

I have two books on the go at the moment.

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown at work

The Redemption Of Althalus by David Eddings at home.

So what are you reading?

Angels and demons is good ( better than Da Vinci Code ) but Redemption of Althalus was terrible ( i still have nightmares about just how bad it was ).

Just bought a three in one book called Orcs ( so far so good ) and just finished the last John Grisham ( forgotten its title already )

Valentino Rossi's book. Quite a refreshing book after just having read Carl Foggerty's "me me me me me me me" effort.

Just finished reading Valentino Rossi's autobiography.

I'm not a big reader but took me 3 days, I just couldn't put it down.
I thought it was excellent, but you could see that it was from a young persons point of view. Although this also added to the enjoyment.

My brother is reading The DiVinci Codes and has said it is worth a read.
So that will be my next one.

I am more into biographies and have Ricky Tomlinson sitting on my coffee table at the moment.
I hope the fat bar$'d doesn't break it.

Its a bit of a read so I will probably leave it to the summer when I have more free time.

thats the trouble with biogs, or so i've found. maybe their selfishness, their nobody matters but me attitude is what helped them get to the top, but there's no need. no harm in nodding to those that helped you make it to the top (as it sounds like rossi's might be)

i'm reading frank skinners biog. very very funny

just finished you got nothing comin by jimmy lerner. true story of a guy who killed his psychotic neighbour, its his story of mr ordinary being sent down for his crime, a telecoms manager in a maximum security prison in Nevada. its very scary!

he was given the choice - plead guilty to killing the guy (diminished responsibilty) and get 4-10 years, or go for the acquital (sp). the guy killed him in self defence, but his lawyer reckoned there to be a 20% chance of being found guilty of murder which carried the death penalty. what would you do? do the time for something you did in defence and take your chances of going against the death penalty?

there but for the grace of god.....

I'm reading a Nick Drake Autobiography at the moment, its very good.

I really enjoyed Steve Hislops autobiography, its a cracking read, Valentino's is good but I think he comes across as complete arrogant c*ck in some places in it. Mind you I think you have to have a bit of that in you otherwise you dont win.

Lance Armstrongs autobiography is also a reallly cracking read as well.

If you like Sci-Fi, then try, "Altered Carbon" by Richard Morgan, its really good.

Svedenstierna's Tour of Great Britain 1802-3

Kind of niche interest I suppose

Swedish metallurgist goes round Britain in 1802 looking at foundries and mines etc.

Thought you'd be interested

Started Wild Swans but can't really get enthralled, Svedenstierna is just too gripping
