Default Where's me fuel filter?

Hello

Having just bought a 2003 sv, i've been giving it a right proper clean because I can't ride it yet .
I put a good eight hours in cleaning it yesterday (was still polishing away at 11:30pm in the dark) and about 4 hours today, bloody addictive this polishing m' larky innit.

Anyway, after running out of things to clean (even did me chain and sprockets) I decided to check out the state of the fuel filter... Except I can't find one!!!!

Having been a HGV fitter for a number of years in the past I know how critical clean fuel is for injector engines.

Please don't tell me Suzuki hasn't even bothered to fit any form of basic fuel filtering??

Keep meaning to post a piccy of me bike now it's all clean an' shiny

Not that anyone cares

There are 2 filters. A mesh type for low pressure and a cartridge high pressure one, both contained within the fuel pump located under the tank. The filters aren't classified as consumables. You just change the cartridge if the mesh filter appears clogged with sh!te. I doubt if they ever get looked at during routine servicing.

Ah, I see.
Was expecting the filter to be easy to spot or for it to have an inline filter of somekind.
I'll probably have a tinker with it and see what state it's in, if and when all this rain clears up.
Will probably buy an in-line filter at some point, just to be safe.
Cheers for that!!!

a few bikes will have the filter built into the fuel pump.. I know on my Kwak the filter and pump are all one unit, so you have to take it outta the tank.. and then you cant take the thing appart

Right, by the sound of it i'm best leaving it alone then and buying an in-line one or somthing.

i was thinking of adding an inline filter as well just wondering if there would be room and would it resrict the flow of fuel too much?
