Re: uk spec helmets?
Assuming it's genuine, there's 3 things to watch for... One is that an import might not have the neccesary safety markings to be road legal in the UK- Arai make different variations for different territories. This seems to be the case with that one, it has SNELL (US accreditation) but not CE or BSAU that I can see. SNELL places more emphasis on rigidity, ie protection against penetration damage over protection against blunt force trauma. Doesn't mean it's not safe but it might mean it's not legal. It also might get you bother at a trackday, though in practice for both I bet nobody ever notices.
Second, the Arai warranty won't apply- and this is a big deal with Arai, since the aftersales is immensely good. Take my old Condor... 3 and a bit years old, kind of beaten up after a crash on a trackday and being dropped, oh, a dozen times or so. The fabric lining's basically disintegrated since it was constantly used and really not cared for, it had a hard life. Just sent it back to Arai for a giggle to see if it'd pass the safety examination, and apparently they've refurbished it and repaired the lining too, and it's on its way back! Won't know how much that means til I get it back but most lids, you'd just throw in the bin by this time. My HJC was a wreck after less than half as much use and no crashes. Last, the sizes may not be the same as a UK lid, Arai vary their sizing worldwide. I'd say if you want an Arai for under £300, get a Chaser or an Astro-R. Or try Hein Gericke and see if they still have the Signets cheap. Old lid but still good. My Astro-R was £250 frinstance, it's noisy but quality.

Re: uk spec helmets?
I nearly bought the white one, but My GSXR is blue and my SV is yellow so I wanted something that'd work with both bikes.
Dont know if you've found it or not, but heres the Arai Europe webiste, might be worth a look so you can see whats available http://www.araihelmet-europe.com/php...?page=fullface

Re: uk spec helmets?
Not my thing really, but its certainy individual enough for you though. Dont know if I would buy a 2nd hand lid though.
The stormtroper lid idea would look pretty cool though if you could pull it off.
