RIP big fella.

Mac was one of the most gererous people I barely knew but he made you feel like an old pal every time he spoke to you.

He was also the first person I met from the org. I also was new to biking and he made me feel part of the group straight away. I haven't seen him since mid 2012 but always think of him when going to Tiptree jam factory.

I remember putting a big rubber stripe across his new immaculately shiny green triumph pannier with my boot when he let me try it and I was thinking 'oh sh!!t, he's going to be mad' but he just said don't worry Paul, it will polish out. Then I rode off with his alarm fob and he couldn't start it. He was as calm as you like when I finally remembered and he was just glad I came back as his wife was going to have to drive the spare one down. Such a lovely man. Said it was a good excuse for another cuppa. I wish I'd known him better.

Thoughts are with his friends and family. He always spoke about them when I saw him and Mac was a very proud family man.

So long Mac. We drank your local pub dry of malt whisky today, I feel that's what you would have wanted.

Thanks for showing me Ullapool, Tobermory and Skye and introducing me to so many great people. I'm going to miss you.

I saw Lyn today and she asked me to say she would like to thank everyone who kindly made a donation to the British Heart Foundation in memory of Mac.
