Re: Wolf Whistling....
I dont mind being wolfwhistled at, it amuses me, I dont find it particularily degrogative, I dont like people shouting at my from cars though - thats usually a bit gross and can be really offensive with the things they say, and most of the time I'm not even wearing anything revealing in the first place

Re: Wolf Whistling....
Take it as a compliment Q!
I 'd only do it if there's some hilarity to be had, a guy I used to work with used honk and shout "alright treacle" etc. (out of the fully stickered up van, and the woman that picked up the complaint was his girlfriend...smart) which was a bit cringeworthy. Shouting "mmm legs" in your best perves voice tends to get some attention* *albeit the teacher on duty running over shouting

I think there is a time and a place (like all forms of flattery or banter) and as long as it's not done aggressively, anyone who would take it as an insult (male or female) would probably not appreciate other forms of flattery either.
Like a innocent 'your hair looks nice' or 'have you lost weight'. I suppose it is difficult to know how it is intended by the whistler. I'll admit when I was whistled at by a gay guy in the local petrol station I was thrown a bit. When he said 'wow, your bum looks great in those jeans' I just said 'ta' and tried to not seem flattered in case he got the wrong idea. P.s. my butt did look great many moons ago (no pun intended). |
