Default What Carb Balancer

I'm looking at getting a carb balancer- not much coming up for UK, mainly US.

Who sells these useful things?

There's a dial based one here

Loads of places do them, I have a Carbtune.

Right- to dig up a well dead thread, I'm actually going to buy one of these this weekend.

Is there any real difference between the Carbtune and the HG dial based one apart from the style of guage?

Is the carbtune more accurate/better built?

I suppose it might be a bit easier to read the carbtune guage, as the indicators are next to each other, rather than reading the needles on 2 dials.

It's the difference between heading to HG to get one (if they've got it in!) or ordering online and waiting a few days (paid tomorrow, would like to get this done over the long weekend).

Cheers as ever

Carbtune are really easy to read and look at when you make your changes cost is not too bad either. Also you can actually service them by cleaning the internals etc so they will work for a long time to come.

Question in a question here but can I use my 4 cylinder carbtune on the SV???

if you're talking the budget dial gauges, then yes a Carbtune2 is a much better bit of kit, and more accurate, if however you get a set of something like Davida gauges then they are about the same, although you'll pay more for quality gauges.

and if you get the four option (as apposed to the two) it'll work on any bike* in the future.

*Obviously excluding CBX's and alike, well anything with more than four cylinders

Cheers Mark

And MCN's Honda V5s! Which apparently be really cheap to own as they run on scotch mist!

Anyway, Cheers guys. I'll order the Carbtune then and not do it this weekend (when I will mostly be messing about with my carbs off the bike sorting out the front cylinder's hygene and choke plunger issues...)

If you're in there anyway, make sure you connect a bit of pipe off the front carb vacuum take off as it's a sod to get to otherwise. Will make hooking the carb tune up easy when you have got it
