Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).
There's also a "U" rating so please respect this. Newbies can also say "hello" here too.

Well we do and when we have to moderate something we try to do it without making a big deal of it . The moderator team do not see all cases of bad language etc so not all get moderated, but those we do see we try to be consistent in the way they are moderated. The extensive use of the f-word in the video overstepped the mark.

No harm on a site where swearing etc is accepted, but it is not accepted here. You agreed to the site rules when you signed up, so you agreed to abide by the U-rating I know most of us never actually read terms and conditions etc so here is a link to the u-rating 'definition' in the announcement section at the top of the forum http://forums.sv650.org/announcement.php?f=116&a=60

The above being said Chris
, I do owe you an apology. Normally I would PM anyone whose post I moderated with my reasons to explain why I thought the post overstepped the mark. I was a bit pushed for time this morning and so I completely forgot to do that. Sorry about that.

If you have further questions please PM me or any of the other moderators or Admins.

PS if you search, you can find plenty of discussions on the u-rating.

It does beg the question, why a u rating requirement on a bike forum...we're all adults here....well most of the time

What's most important to me is keeping things civil, regardless of the language used

I still prefer this forum to others regardless though and will happily abide by the rules to stay here

No problem - I'm not complaining because as you say, I signed up to the site knowing its rules and it's something I enjoy for free thanks to people like yourself keeping it going.

As kaivalagi says, I was just curious as to the rationale. Looked at the rules and I can see why you wouldn't want explicit pics to keep it safe for work but not sure I get the swearing ban. No regulations banning it (the BBFC applies to films) - you can see the F-word in national newspapers, but hey ho.

Loved this bit in the rules btw!:

Violence

Mild violence only. Occasional mild threat or menace only.

Mild violence means slapping but no punching so just watch it or Ill be round there to give you a good handbagging OK?

You know you can only threaten me occasionally, so that's your lot for the time being.
