Re: Any Experience with Bike-Seal?
I use a Large G/C clamp and some bits of sacrificial wood for bead breaking.

Re: Any Experience with Bike-Seal?
The scaffold plank with a piece of wood nailed on the end is pretty effective - if the tyre is very difficult I set it up like a ramp and slowly drive a car up it until the bead breaks.

Re: Any Experience with Bike-Seal?
Tubeless is easier to change than tubed, a breaker really helps.
Don't bother with the internal tyre sealants, a good old fashioned external plug fitted properly is fine for many miles. I've had the internal sealant cause a terrible out of balance, one of the most terrifying experiences I have had on a bike. The forks were oscillating back and forth a very noticeable amount at 90 mph, I will never use it again. |

Had one of these for years, I got a complete kit with 4 x CO2 bottles and adaptor pipe ( CO2 bottle to tyre valve ) and a pouch for less than £40, really well made piece of kit - fits under seat but never had to use it so far, you need to practice with it to get the hang of it, not suitable to use first time on a dark and rainy night....just be careful how you load mushroom and don't trap edge of mushroom head in applicator. I added a bit more pure silicon grease to pouch that holds plugs just in case.

Re: Any Experience with Bike-Seal?
I have that same kit. I practiced on an old worn out rear tyre before I took it off.
The only thing I'd suggest is making sure you don't stretch the plug when you cut the excess off as some instruction videos show for off road tyres. On road tyres you just want to cut the excess off flush to the tyre without pulling it or it won't have much stalk left and may fall into the tyre. They are a temporary fix too, held in place by the pressure inside the tyre when you reinflate, rather than glued in place. |
