Getting a track bike.
Well im thinking about getting a track bike, probably next year but possably this year depending on what happens...
Anyway, im looking at things that cost about £1500, 600's mostly but something like an RSV or even another falco would be great, I have seen some around for that price in the past but there isnt much atm. Wondering if anyone knows a good place to get a deal on a older bike or a crash repairable. Most of my research manages to bring up crash reps that cost as much as good condition bikes!!! |

A falco with RSV fairings, you will be a true wannabe Been looking meself, an old Steely CBR600F is an option like I used to have, pick one up for £1k ish.
Gixxer's seem to be the cheapest options for a track bike, been looking at a few 750's. |

Gixer Gixer Gixer...sorry I might be bias! lol My track bike cost me £700 and so far all its needed is a set of tyres and a yearly service! Cheap fun! For £1500 you should be able to get a good track bike!

Re: Getting a track bike.
Is yours a 750 or a 6? I think your right with prices, Gixxer is the easiest.

Re: Getting a track bike.
600 - they are cheaper in the first place and loads more parts for them although alot of bits are interchangeable! People take 750 forks to fit to other bikes or upgrade there 600 - same with the 750 swing-arm, keep it standard and everything is generally cheap to repair! I don't even bother with track fairings as slightly damaged road fairings are cheaper to pick up!

Re: Getting a track bike.
I've been told to look at CBR600R's, but finding a nice one in the £1500 budget range is hard.
And for £1500 I can only find fat assed GSXR600s. Greek, consider a full on track bike with daytime MOT too. something im thinking off too. |

Re: Getting a track bike.
....and whats wrong with a fat assed Gixer's If you know how to ride one it can keep up with modern 600's and you can pick one up with a log book for under a grand
