Default Buying an import

Hi guys, have been looking patiently to buy my first SV-N pointy and have come across a good looking one which is an import from Italy and registered in the UK.

Other than the clocks and being in KM as opposed to miles is there anything else that i might need to look out for and/or be aware of when looking at an imported model?

Thanks
Rob

You can hold down the B button on the pointy when mileage is displayed on the clocks and it should switch between KM and Miles

Check insurance costs in case it does anything weird to the price.

Sounds daft but make sure the headlights are pointing the right way. Think about the aim of the lights for riding on the right.

Fortunately it's a naked so I think front light fudging should be easier. You'll need to check all lights - indicators etc but I think fine - on cars there's something to do with the reverse light from some countries. I don;t think italian SV650's were fitted with a reverse though luckily.

Insurance should be notified, it will either put it up or down. I'd do a few test quotes. I think tax will most likely be the same or curiously cheaper.
