Throttle cable routing/longer cables? Curvy.
Hey folks I just got a CNC kit for my curvy but it does not come with throttle cables ive heard some people say you need new ones and some say you dont. Can i just re route the cables behind the forks instead of through or should i get some Naked model cables ?

Re: CNC conversion kit ?
You can reroute them behind the forks, it depends on where your new bars sit.
In the end I got the naked ones to replace the standard S ones

Re: CNC conversion kit ?
When I tried rerouting them, it didn't work, but it was down to the height of my bar risers

Re: CNC conversion kit ?
Im using Renthal low bars instead of the ultra lows. Still waiting for a few bits to arrive. Hopefully all will go well.

Re: CNC conversion kit ?
As Maviczap says,it depends on the hight of the risers and the bars, mine were standard risers with Renthal low bars,I ordered the new throttle cables as well,if any thing they are a bit long, but tried the originals first, but I wasn't happy as they were at max,so fitted the new ones, best thing I've done to my sv,riding is so much better and easier on the old back, wrists and elbows, good luck!!!

Re: CNC conversion kit ?
Just had a wee shot on my mates curvy his cables are the originals and there's plenty of play. He got billet inserts made to fit the original yoke then drilled and added 3inch risers. With the Renthal low bars. Hopefully all will go well if not ill order the N cables.

Re: CNC conversion kit ?
I had custom cables made up by my local bike shop with the exact amount of extra cable that I needed. The result is that they flow smoothly and look great.
With routing the cables through a more fight curve, you increase the risk of cable drag. If your cables are a bit old and sticky, this could lead to the throttle not shutting off in an emergency. So be careful with how you do it, make sure it is smooth and running right before you out for a ride. |

Re: CNC conversion kit ?
Should have tried the adjustable clip-ons,under £30 they really do make a difference & all cables fit!!!

Hi this sounds interesting, I'm looking switch the clip ons for a handle bar.
Just out of curiosity, could not drill the original top yoke and mount high risers? |
