my project gpz
i have a gpz i am doing up.
i have managed to get the engine start, a bit on the ruff side at the mo., i yet to get new plugs and leads. the question is why can't i get over 4000 revs, i think it might be flooding a little, but i would think it would still do over 4000. i know i should do the other bit that might resolve it, but a lot of heads it better than one. i maybe forgetting something.

Re: my project gpz
if it started then its progress I would suggest you change plugs first, clean the airfilter and carbs and then start it again!! if it's anything to go by my zxr400 then it will need some italian tunning to get it revving across the whole range

Re: my project gpz
One regular issue with old Kwaks is rust in the tank getting into the carbs causing blockages and rough running(or no running)
First port of call is the float chamber valves which can get jammed open causing flooding, then the jets get crud in them and so on.Carbs then need a strip and clean, but you need to stop the crud at source.I dont know if a fuel filter is feasable on that bike.
