Default Price info / advice required please

OK I have a bloke coming to see the Hornet tomorrow. I was asking £3K, he says it's overpriced. What do you peeps reckon.

03 plate, black, naked, 12750 on the clock, excellent nick apart from a slightly scuffed near side R&G where I dropped it at the PFS. It has a small fly screen, R&Gs and a fake carbon fibre hugger, else it's a standard bike. Tyres are OK, plenty of life left in them. Had a 12K service done in November / December. No MOT needed till July, it's taxed till June.

I want to sell it so I will be flexible on price.

Whodja reckon?

Ed

the guide is based on about 3.5k mileage a year I think, yours been over that I'd be looking to pay nearer £2,700 if I was buying, so realistically I'd settle for anything above that.
Perhaps not what you wanted to hear Ed, but real world none the less.

he'll no doubt pickup on every tiny thing to beat the price down, so perhaps starting high isn't a bad thing, after all hes got to think he's getting a good deal at the end of the day.

as him to make an offer (which will be silly low) and work from there.

Cheers Mark

i'd look at accepting 2850 at the lowest, my mate sold his hornet for that price

i think parkers can be miles away, they quote 4000 for a few year old VFR yet a dealer nearby is selling the same vintage for 4999!

remember he is trying to put pressure on you by saying it's overpriced, it's not yours to sell it's his to buy!

He's got to be interested at there or there abouts or he would'nt come to look. He's sounding you out to see how far you will drop,so hold out and let the bike sell itself.
Thats if he actually turns up of course.

Settle for £2750 minimum or don't sell. Someone WILL buy it at that price. You are selling it in prime time for selling bikes.
