Is it possible to repair cracked fairing?
At the bottom of fairing where it is bolted to the bike i have a crack of about 2-3cm not caused by me but previous owner!
It is not that noticeable unless looked at closely but was wondering if it's possible to get this repaired? |

Re: Is it possible to repair cracked fairing?
I bought my lowers with one having 2 big cracks, I simply used a wide tipped soldering iron to seal the joint, then added in a strip of plastic and melted that in to bolster it up.
With some filling, sanding, filling and sanding it came out good. |

I'd try and speak to your local motorcycle bodywork shop.
They will be able to make good job of it

Re: Is it possible to repair cracked fairing?
Soldering iron and more plastic to melt with some mesh metal to add behind the fairing and it will come up a treat with sanding.
practice 1st on somthing until youve got the nack though. took me a few tries but my vfr fairing is coming up a treat now and theres alot to do. |

Re: Is it possible to repair cracked fairing?
Depending on how bad it is, I reckon £50-£100. I had my fairing repaired by a local guy. It was smashed to pieces and I'd already got another off ebay when he said he could fix it. True to his word, he did a great job...so now I have a spare

Re: Is it possible to repair cracked fairing?
Top tip if doing a 'fine crack' yourself. Get some apoxy resin and a pin or needle. Apply into the crack in a thin amount, and hold til set. This way you can secure it in the right place before going into plastic padding the back of the fairing.
It works, cause I haz done it
