I looked up the silver mirroring, I do wonder if the front face is really as good as the opposite side. Anyway after a couple of glasses of 14% red (why? and how? really not necessary) I remembered a Beauty Lightomatic bits camera I have, so pulled the beamsplitter out of it. It's too long and not tall enough, but shoving it in the Minolta certainly makes it work. Then I remembered a Zeiss Contessa LK scale-focus camera, these are teh non-RF version but the top is pretty much the same, so nicked the beamsplitter from that, which is immaculate. It's a bit too big and I can't make it fit properly, so am gonna see if it can be cut down somehow. Also just now remembered I have three Super Solinettes upstairs I was given so maybe tomorrow I'll take a look at one of those and perhaps the mirror will be a better size. It could happen!

Good work on the 28 admin, you could use a magnet to retrieve the ball bearing but who needs clicks? The acceptable error in the aperture setting is about half a stop anyway.

Looks like you're making progress with that mirror. I've used magnets before and they work well. I usually have one on the desk as safe place for small screws.

I was fixing our car seat earlier, it has a cable with a hooked end to let it slide forward when you tilt it. The hook is prone to breaking off in end it seems, so I had it out to fix it with a Sturmey Archer gear cable bracket of some sort (hello google). Was just showing my daughter the bits, dropped it and it just had to bounce away down the drain that was nowhere near me. DOH. Managed to retrieve it though, I would have earned another 30mins or so in purgatory just on bad language otherwise.

You aren't seeing double. The top one seems to be a limiter so you can set it at what you want and then you turn the second one until it stops.

What's the Fuji? I like the fact it's got a bit of history with it.
