Default Knocking noise in front fork

Hi, maybe this is normal but.......
I have noticed that when I go over a bump in the road of pothole i get a loud knock from the front forks. It seems to be OK in normal roads or in small bumps.
This is probably par for the course but as I am new to this, just want to make sure there is nothing more sinister..
BTW, I have a Pointy K3 with 5200 miles on the clock.
Thanks

Err, yes, even my GSXR RWU forks do that, but to a lesser extent.

Really Interesting. I was riding over a gravely road at the weekend on a downward slope, and the front end was rattling away as normal, but on applying the brakes(lightly, i was on gravel dont forget), is almost stopped. So this is leading me to believe that its either, Calipers rattling, or the calipers/pads combo rattling as there wasnt enough braking to compress the forks. Its has been discussed a lot of times before with various opinions etc. Have a search.

Agree with what you are saying, i have not pinned if its the forks or the EBC pads & disk. I am weighting on the pads as they have movement in the caliper and the disks as they have a little rotational movement. I also think that the fork make a little noise due to the spring somtimes knocking the side wall. Not a major issue as the forks work fairly well but are beeing drained and re filled with oil as i know some leaked out when i installed them (someone did not do up the bottom bolt properly, not me).

My USD GSXR750 ones have a different knock "Bikes make noise", as Randy O says.

Well its either the large springs that are in a SV fork, knocking on the side of the forks, or as i have read on SVrider someone had the idea that it was something to do with the headstock bearings. No one is 100% sure on an answer.

Or it might be some part of the damper mechanism, that's a popular suspect. Or the calipers.
