Angry Insurance

Just rang my insurance broker to change my address and they want to charge me £30 admin ?

I said to the guy, what, £30 to change my address on your screen, he said yes but we also have to contact the under writer.

out of all our insurance policies we have such as life, income, 2 different cars this one is the only one to charge this fee.

I have not paid it yet, but i suppose i have to because if i cancel the policy which runs out 07 Aug then i wont get my years NCB

Its totally crazy, i would love to know how they can justofy such an expense.

£10 could potentially be justified.

£5 for the customer services hourly wage to change the details
£2 for printing of new certificate and postage etc
£3 for a slight profit

£30 = Robbery

MCE, who until now i would have recommended and they have been the cheapest for me for the last 2 years,

It really pains me but i think i will have to phone them back and pay, i suppose my insurance would be invalid if i forgot to tell them i have moved until my policy renewal in Aug?

ALL insurance companies charge admin fees. it states them in thier T&C's. Weather they inforce them or not is another matter

Its the same as banking fees etc. Seems £30 is a standard amount!

This happened to me i actually screwed, I gave the kid on the phone some abuse as it wasn't even my fault i was moving and asked to be put through to a manager or supervisor, who cut off the £20 charge but still boosted my premiums Thats what nobb3d me off that its my parents who moved not me.

When my partner and I moved in together we moved from an ok area to a rather posh area, and as it was a brand new estate there were no crime record for the postcode.....so they had to assume worst case and charged her an extra £100 for the pleasure.
