Unhappy Fuel pump wont prime.

Hi, my sv650 K4 wont start, the engine turns over but there is no fuel pump noise. Ive checked the obvious-clutch and stand sensors + kill switch but everything seems ok. I've also done the 'dealer mode' and it shows c00 so thats fine. I'm stuck now and I don't fancy a big repair bill from a garage. HELP!!!!

If it's turning over then none of the things you've checked are relevant, check for votage at the pump connector, 12V there when it should be means the pump's goosed, otherwise check wiring and connectors elsewhere.

Thanks for reply. The bike's only done 4200 miles and i've owned it since new. Although I don't ride it much I always start her up every few days. Surely the pump hasn't gone with so little milage? There's also FI warning when I try and start it. Ive been told it may be the tip sensor? how do I reset it/chech it? Also can i put 12v directly into the pump to check it?

First off, don't start it every few days if you're not going to ride it 'til it's properly hot, starting it in the garage and not riding it will do more harm than good.

Back to the problem; read this: Click me.

By FI warning do you mean the red light is on when the ignition is on but the engine is not running? Has it been on the floor? If no then I wouldn't start looking at the tip over sensor, (well, not yet anyway). Yes, you can put 12V on to the pump to check it works, but I'd see if there's 12V at the wiring connector when there should be.

Well then, that makes the tip over sensor even less likely to be the problem.
